Vankleek Hill and L’Orignal firefighters responded to a fire in a machinery shed on Thursday, June 20.

According to Champlain Township Fire Chief Ghislain Pigeon, the call to a farm on Highway 34 was received at 10:55 am. Pigeon said the fire had started in a six-wheel all-terrain-vehicle that was stored inside the shed. The building owner was able to drag the burning vehicle from the building using a tractor. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire. There were no injuries and damages were limited to the vehicle itself.
