Hike for Hospice Care Ottawa

May 9, 2020 @ 8:00 am - 1:00 pm

The Hike for Hospice Care Ottawa will be a VIRTUAL event this year, ensuring clients, staff, volunteers and supporters are safe while practicing physical distancing.  It will take place on Saturday, May 9 to raise much needed financial support for families in need of palliative care. Last year Hike for Hospice raised $127,650 thanks to more than 500 participants, many donors and generous sponsors.  Hike organizers are hoping to surpass this amount in 2020.

Though the 5km trek cannot occur at Carleton University this year, Hospice Care Ottawa encourages everyone to join the Virtual Hike by registering online, sharing their online fundraising page with friends and family to collect donations, and completing their 5-km hike on or before May 9.   To register or make a donation visit hospicecareottawa.ca/hike-for-hospice-2020 or call 613-260-2906 ext. 222.

Hospice Care Ottawa is a community-based charitable, non-profit organization.  Programs are provided at hospice sites across the city and within the community including weekly in-home visiting by a trained volunteer, Day Hospice gatherings, caregiver and bereavement support as well as round the clock end-of-life care in hospice residences.  Delivery of services is possible through the support of a small, dedicated staff, many volunteers, generous donors and fundraisers like the Hike for Hospice Care Ottawa.
