Dunany Vernissage Exhibit
August 25, 2022 @ 5:00 pm - August 26, 2022 @ 8:00 pm
The Dunany Golf and Country Club at 2053 chemin Dunany, in the municipality of Wentworth, just north of Lachute, Québec, has the dates set for its vernissage art exhibit, which is put on by the Dunany studio artists.
This year’s dates for the event are Thursday, August 25, and Friday, August 26. The event will run from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on both days.
The Dunany studio artists are a group of creative, talented, multi-media artists whose displays of fine-art offer a great exhibit for public viewing. The group of artists was formed in 2000 by artists who studied with the late painter Barbara Elmslie. The group has since expanded to 16 members, who have been meeting via Zoom for group sessions during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Primarily begun as a small group of water colour painters, the Dunany studio group has expanded to include other local artists working in acrylic, oil, pastel, drawing and sculpture. These dedicated artists meet weekly at the Wentworth Recreational Community Centre on Lake Louisa Road, to learn, share ideas and practice new styles and techniques.
The group’s members have hosted professional water colour workshops at various times throughout the year, featuring visiting masters and well-known artist-teachers, such as Jacques Hébert, Doug Mays, Renée Dion, Art Cunanan, Sandra Grégoire and others.
The artistic talent that abounds in this thriving, active community of Dunany is astonishing and the art exhibition always receives rave reviews. The names of the 16 artists are: Corry Berry, Revilla Sauvé, Maureen Cameron, Joanne Moore, Jane Pilon, Annabelle Wood, Angela Macleod, Caroline Roy, Barbara McCullough Scales, Marion McGill Hodge, Judy Hammond, Steve Darlington, John Vanstone, Ginette Masson, Nancy Farha and Susie Leger – with a nod to the late Barbara Elmslie.
