Books, authors, and the literary industry were the focus of the Touch a Book event held Friday, September 11, and Saturday, September 12, at the Dalkeith…Plus! Library and the Robertson-Clark Building in Dalkeith. The two-day event brought together local authors, readers, and others interested in books and writing.
Visitors could meet authors, browse and purchase books, and take part in discussions and displays related to the literary world. Some of the speakers included author Phil Gurski, who spoke about his work on the Fenians; Leah Vasquez, who spoke about publishing; and author Grace R. Pringle, who was selling her young adult Christian fantasy novels.
The event also offered information on topics including copyright rules and publishing options, giving participants an opportunity to learn more about the process of getting a book from an idea to publication.
