The field is set for a contested mayoral election in East Hawkesbury on Monday, October 26, with three candidates seeking the mayor’s seat and two candidates running for deputy mayor.
Incumbent Mayor Robert Kirbyis seeking another term. He is facing challengers Richard Sauvé and Daniel Journeaux.
Incumbent Jacques Tranchemontagne is facing Marc Bizaillon in the deputy mayor’s race.
There is no contested race for councillor, as the three candidates running for the Township’s three councillor positions were acclaimed. The candidates are incumbents Monique Desjardins and Karina Sauvé, along with new Councillor-Elect Kathleen O’Connell Renaud.
