Nominations do not close until August 24 for the 2026 municipal election, but there are already four names on the ballot for Mayor in North Glengarry.
Incumbent Jamie MacDonald was nominated on June 5, followed by Cody Pierce on June 15. On July 3, Michel Levert was nominated, followed by Victor Brassard on July 8.
The only ward in North Glengarry where there is currently an indication of a race for Councillor is in Ward 3-Alexandria. Mark Talbot is challenging incumbent Michael Madden for the seat.
Incumbent Deputy Mayor Carma Williams has registered to run for another term. Michel Cuerrier is running for the single Councillor-at-large seat, and Brenda Noble is running to regain the Ward 1-Lochiel council seat she lost to Brian Caddell in 2022. Jeff Manley is running again in Ward 2-Kenyon, and Gary Martin is also seeking another term representing Ward 4-Maxville.
