The list of nominated candidates for the October 26 municipal election in East Hawkesbury has grown, establishing races for Mayor and Deputy Mayor in the township.
Richard Sauve filed nomination papers on July 6 to run for Mayor against incumbent Robert Kirby.
Marc Bizaillon is running for Deputy Mayor against incumbent Jacques Tranchemontagne.
As of Friday, July 10, there were two nominated candidates for Councillor in East Hawkesbury. That day, Kathleen O’Connell Renaud, who has been involved in local efforts to oppose the proposed high-speed rail project, filed nomination documents. Incumbent Councillor Monique Desjardins is also running for another term.
