A pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Alexandria on Thursday, April 23.
Shortly after 3 pm, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Kenyon Street and Main Street.
A 25-year-old female sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital and then transported by Air ORNGE to a regional trauma centre for treatment. The roadway was closed to allow emergency crews to manage the scene safely.
The OPP continues to investigate, with the assistance of OPP Technical Collision Investigators and a Collision Reconstructionist.
On Saturday, April 25, North Glengarry Alliance Church, where the victim and her family attend, released a statement on social media on behalf of the family. As of Saturday, the victim was no longer in critical condition and was expected to make a full recovery. The victim and her family also wish to remain anonymous. They are extremely thankful for the support and prayers from the community.
