On Tuesday, December 9, Grenville-sur-la-Rouge (GSLR) Council awarded a contract to Effel Experts-conseil to prepare design plans for the redevelopment of Paul-Bougie Park in Calumet.
The municipality has received an undisclosed amount of funding from the federal and provincial governments through the Recreational and Sports Infrastructure Financial Assistance Program, which supports the construction, development, upgrading, or renovation of sports and recreational facilities.
GSLR Council awarded a contract valued at $43,750 plus applicable taxes to Effel to prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates for the park’s redevelopment. Effel was selected through a competitive tendering process, submitting a lower bid than Équipe Laurence, which proposed a fee of $46,675 plus applicable taxes.
As part of the redevelopment, the municipality intends to add a trail and a permanent outdoor skating rink.
Council unanimously approved the contract without further discussion.
