With the postal strike disrupting the delivery of packages and mail, including bills, the Municipality of Casselman sent out a reminder that people are still responsible for paying as usual.

Casselman is recommending residents sign up to receive bills online. Residents can go to the municipality’s website, click on the postal strike tab and sign up for online bills.

The municipality said once registered, people will receive their bills online and can pay through pre-authorized payments, online payments through a bank, by cheque, electronic transfer or in person at the municipal office.

September water and sewer bills will be out as of Oct. 7. Anyone who hasn’t received a bill or wants to inquire about online billing can call 613-764-3139, email [email protected] or visit the municipal offices.

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers launched a national strike just over a week ago, halting Canada Post operations. Negotiations remain ongoing and Canada Post said no mail or packages will be processed or delivered until operations resume.
