A day-long event for those who like to sew, knit, crochet, quilt, felt, embroider and spin takes place on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at the Vankleek Hill Community Centre.

For the second year in a row, the expanded Vankleek Hill Fibre Frolic is fully booked with a full slate of vendors lined up for the event, which runs from 10 am to 4 pm, says organizer Louise Sproule.

“This year, we have a wait list for vendors, so we are thinking of adding a second venue for 2025, as interest has grown,” said Sproule.

“In addition to beautiful hand-dyed yarns, we have something for quilters, felters, spinners and those who enjoy embroidery and rug-hooking,” said Sproule. “We are pleased to welcome a vendor who sells vintage and other buttons,” she continued.

Something new at this year’s event is the ‘Swap Table’ at which donated surplus sewing and crafting tools will be up for grabs–including everything from sewing needles to thread, specialty needles for embroidery, knitting needles and crochet hooks and accessories. Craft enthusiasts always seem to have extras, Sproule noted, and it always feels good to pass on your extras to those who are just starting out.

Attendees are invited to bring something to add to the table and to take a treasure home if they see something they can use, she explained. Even if you did not bring something to add to the Swap Table, you can take something home with you, she noted.

You can bring donated items to Vankleek Hill Fibre Frolic or if you are in or near Vankleek Hill, you can bring your donated items to The Review offices at 76 Main Street East in Vankleek Hill weekdays from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm. Crafty donations are also being accepted at Arbor Gallery at 103 High Street Wednesdays through Sundays, from noon to 4 pm.

Admission to Vankleek Hill Fibre Frolic is free. The event, organized by Sproule under the umbrella of Amelou Holdings Inc., will share proceeds with Arbor Gallery this year.

Donations to Arbor Gallery, a charitable volunteer-run art gallery in Vankleek Hill are always welcome.
