A Sunday afternoon of good eating is just a few days away in Vankleek Hill.

The annual Festival of Flavours food festival returns on Sunday, September 7.

A series of food vendors, serving their items fresh, or packaged to take home, will be set up on Main Street, along with other vendors. The day will also include live entertainment with good music to accompany good food.

Foods available at the Festival of Flavours range from home cooked classics to items from around the world.

And the strong-smelling vegetable great for adding to a variety of dishes will be celebrated again on Sunday, September 7 in Vankleek Hill.

The Festival of Flavours begins at 10 am on September 7 and continues until 4 pm. It is presented by Excellent Events of Vankleek Hill. Admission is free.

The Vankleek Hill District Lions Club Farmers’ Garlic Market will also take place on Sunday, September 7 on the grounds of École élémentaire catholique St-Grégoire on Higginson Street. Many varieties of garlic, most of it locally grown, will be for sale from a variety of growers. Visitors can sample garlic and decide how strong or mild they like it.

The Garlic Market will be open from 9 am until 4 pm on September 7. Admission is by donation. Proceeds will be used by the Lions Club to support various local not-for-profit organizations.
