A grant from the Ontario government will be used to improve health and safety for firefighters in The Nation Municipality.
The $41,152 Ontario Fire Protection grant will allow The Nation Fire Department to build a bunker gear room at the St-Isidore Fire Station. The room will be used for cleaning and decontaminating firefighter bunker gear to reduce firefighter’s exposure to dangerous materials which can cause cancer.
