This Friday, November 29 is the Champlain Christmas Parade in Vankleek Hill. Everyone is welcome to come to town and enjoy the festivities and welcome Santa Claus to our community.
The parade begins at 6:30 pm. It starts at the corner of Stanley Street and Home Avenue. It will follow Higginson, Derby and Main streets back to Home Avenue and end at École St-Grégoire.
Send a letter to Santa at The Review!
Due to the ongoing Canada Post strike, letters to Santa will not be collected by postal workers along the parade route, but do not worry, children can still write to Santa at The Review offices at 76 Main Street. Beginning at 4:30 pm, everyone is welcome to write a letter to Santa Claus at The Review. We will ensure Santa gets those letters and everyone receives a letter back from him. There will also be opportunities for photos, and gingerbread cookies courtesy of Realtor Louise Sproule.
Parade night is also the perfect opportunity to share the seasonal spirit to help others. The Foodland store will be collecting non-perishable food items along the parade route for the Vankleek Hill Food Bank. Items will also be collected at the store on Highway 34.
Get into the holiday spirit with a special Story Time & Craft session at the Champlain Public Library at 6 pm. This fun activity is perfect for kids of all ages and will get everyone excited for the parade. The library is located at the corner of Main and Union streets.
Parking
Champlain Township reminds vehicle owners to please avoid parking on the parade route. Parking will be prohibited on Main Street between Home Avenue and Derby Avenue to ensure the parade runs smoothly and spectators can get a good view.
