The 2026 municipal election is going to be rather quiet in The Nation Municipality. Only voters in one ward will have the opportunity to cast a ballot on October 26.
Mayor Francis Brière has been re-elected by acclamation to a second term. Ward 1 Councillor Tim Stewart has also been re-elected by acclamation to a second term.
Ward 2 is the only place in The Nation where there will be a ballot. Incumbent Councillor Alain Mainville is being challenged by Marie-Hélène Dion and Francine Allaire.
Incumbent Councillors Danik Forgues (Ward 3), Raymond Lalande (Ward 4), Daniel Boisvenue (Ward 5), and Marjorie Drolet (Ward 6) have all been re-elected by acclamation.
