To the Editor,
I’m not politically active to the extent that I would stump for a federal party. Party ideology interests me less than the charisma of party leader. Does that person exude conviction of their promises? Is that person genuine? Gut feeling usually informs me of the answer.
I, like many Canadians, was eager to hear what Prime Minister Mark Carney had to say after the Canada – U.S. trade negotiations failed and I was impressed with his comments. How could any viewer or listener not feel patriotic hearing our country’s leader speak? I think that most pensioners understand that we are in a battle of our lives. And that those who are still actively working, realize that they are in a conflict of their livelihoods.
Mark Carney fired the first shot across the bow. He needs our help. The business owners in the major industries of aluminum, steel, lumber, mining, fisheries, agriculture, infrastructure, factories, service agencies and the workers involved, need our help. Allow ordinary Canadians to purchase Canada Savings Bonds again. Welcome the elbows up crowd into the Layla’s your aunt moment.
