Downtown Alexandria was crowded with hundreds of people during the evening on Thursday, July 23 for Meet Me on Main Street.
Community organizations and businesses set up displays promoting their activities and products. Main Street and Mill Square were closed to traffic so visitors could walk around, sit and enjoy food and beverages, or listen, and even dance to the musical entertainment provided by the Ceilidh Drovers.
Meet me on Main Street events are organized by the Township of North Glengarry each spring and summer as a way of promoting local businesses and organizations, and to connect friends and neighbours in the community. The Alexandria event was the final of four held this year. Meet me on Main Street events were also held in Dunvegan, Maxville, and Glen Robertson.
