Front porches, lawns, and neighbourhood gathering spaces throughout Vankleek Hill will once again transform into live music venues when Porchfest returns on Saturday, July 11.
The annual community festival has become one of the area’s most anticipated summer events, bringing together musicians, residents, and visitors for a day filled with free live entertainment. This year’s festival is expected to feature approximately 30 bands and performers representing a wide variety of musical genres, including rock, country, folk, blues, pop, jazz, and more.
Unlike a traditional music festival, Porchfest takes place throughout the town, with musicians performing from front porches, yards, and other outdoor spaces. Festivalgoers are encouraged to walk through the community, discover new artists, and enjoy the unique atmosphere that has made the event a local favourite. The grassroots concept turns neighbourhood streets into a series of small stages while celebrating music, creativity, and community spirit.
Excitement for this year’s event is already building online. The Vankleek Hill Porchfest Facebook page is currently running a countdown to the festival, revealing participating bands one by one. Each post introduces a performer, provides a brief description of their musical style, and gives audiences a preview of the diverse lineup they can expect on July 11.
The countdown has become a popular way for residents and visitors to discover new musicians ahead of the festival and begin planning which performances they hope to see. With artists spanning multiple genres and generations, organizers say there will be something for everyone to enjoy.
Porchfest continues to grow as a celebration of local and regional talent while strengthening the community connections that make Vankleek Hill unique. Whether attendees come to hear their favourite performers or simply wander the streets in search of new music, the event offers an opportunity to experience the town in a different way.
Additional details, including performer announcements and festival updates, can be found on the Vankleek Hill Porchfest Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/vkhporchfest as the countdown to July 11 continues.
