The Municipalité régionale de comté (MRC) d’Argenteuil is launching an online survey to gauge public interest in a proposed multisport complex for the region.
“As the population grows and the use of the MRC’s sports infrastructure increases, the council wants to hear from residents to better understand their specific needs regarding physical activity and sports. Is the current offering adequate? What aspects could we improve? The results of this consultation will inform coherent and rigorous planning, so that the MRC can continue to offer services that evolve with its community,” said Prefect Bernard Bigras-Denis.
A multisport complex includes indoor and/or outdoor sports facilities, such as synthetic turf fields, gymnasiums, multipurpose rooms, and various amenities, including locker rooms and showers.
In Québec, multisport complexes often serve a regional purpose, thus serving the population of several municipalities.
The survey aims to gather information on the current sports participation of the population. It also gauges interest in a multisport complex project by asking about desired spaces and services, if applicable. This initiative constitutes a first step and could lead to a feasibility study, depending on the survey results.
The survey is open to permanent and seasonal residents of the nine local municipalities of the MRC d’Argenteuil. The survey is available online at www.argenteuil.qc.ca/sport, until July 2, 2026. It takes between 5 and 10 minutes to complete the questionnaire. Participants can, if they wish, enter the draw for a pair of tickets to Louis-José Houde’s show, which will be held on October 9 at Salle Cécile Wojas Hall at École polyvalente Lavigne in Lachute.
