Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has invoked its mandate following a police response in South Glengarry.

On Thursday, June 4, shortly before 2 a.m., officers from the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a person in distress in South Glengarry.

Officers located the individual and took them into custody before transporting them to hospital. The OPP was later advised the individual had suffered a non-life-threatening injury during the interaction.

The OPP has notified the SIU, which has invoked its mandate.
