It was a beautiful day on Wednesday, June 3 in Vankleek Hill and grade four and five students at École élémentaire catholique St-Grégoire were out making one part of the community look even more beautiful.

The students were planting flowers and other garden plants in the churchyard at Église St-Grégoire at the corner of Higginson and Derby streets. The plants include a variety of annual flowers and perennials. The plants were supplied by Legault Greenhouses and a staff member from there and teachers supervised the project. Other students were busy sanding old stair rail spindles to be repainted with decorative depictions of the various values taught by Jesus Christ. Once they are completed, they will be displayed in the new garden around the church.
