A new portal to old-world wonder is now open in the heart of Vankleek Hill. The Magic Dwarf Shoppe, an enchanting boutique where curiosity meets everyday magic, has made its official entry into the local business community. The shoppe hosted a soft opening on Sunday, May 17 during the May Show Festival, and the permanent grand opening will take place on Thursday, May 28.

Stepping into The Magic Dwarf Shoppe is like travelling back in time. With a curated Victorian aesthetic, the space offers a mindful escape for those seeking witchy wonder.

The shoppe specializes in a meticulously selected collection of artisanal teas, handmade goods, ritual wares, crystals and divination tools, books and journals, small-batch jewellery, and curious bits and bobs you wouldn’t otherwise come across.

Reflecting a deep commitment to ethical commerce, every item in the shoppe is consciously sourced and fair trade, with a primary focus on featuring and supporting Canadian brands.

The Story Behind the Nameby the Owner

It all began with a tiny creature and a big temperament: my late Netherland dwarf bunny, Magic. For over a decade, he was my familiar—a true force of nature who imprinted on me in the deepest sense, choosing me as much as I chose him. So, it felt only fitting that my publishing imprint (The Magic Dwarf Press) should carry his name.

That same bold, spirited, and delightfully peculiar energy lives at the heart of this shoppe. We may be small in footprint, but like the original Magic Dwarf, we possess a personality far larger than our size. I hope visitors find a little piece of that magic to take home with them!
