On Monday, March 23, 2026, North Glengarry Council received a report outlining the total remuneration paid to each council member for 2025. The total amount is $209,572.89, which represents an increase of approximately 4.98 per cent, or $9,945.36, compared with the 2024 total of $199,627.53.
Councillors’ salaries totalled $157,428.18, followed by workshops and conference registration and related expenses at $44,341.20, and mileage and eligible expenses reimbursement at $7,803.51.
Each councillor received $19,126.63, except for Councillor at Large Jacques Massie, who earned $20,602.40. By comparison, in 2024, each councillor received $17,955.18, with Councillor Massie having received $19,340.67.
Mayor Jamie MacDonald was paid $36,777.26 in 2025, up from $34,524.87 in 2024, while Deputy Mayor Carma Williams was paid $23,541.96 in 2025, compared with $22,100.20 in the previous year.
