A Montréal resident is facing a series of fraud-related charges in Hawkesbury.

According to the Hawkesbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), on Thursday March 12, 2026, an individual attended a local financial institution to cash a cheque. Staff determined that the individual used a fraudulent driver’s licence as identification, resulting in the account be frozen by staff.

On Wednesday March 25, 2026, the same individual visited the same financial institution and attempted to withdraw the funds from the account. As a result, the financial institution contacted the OPP and officers arrived at the branch.

As a result of the investigation, Dorice Kpangon, a 27-years-old, of Montreal, was charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

The accused was held for a bail hearing on Thursday March 26, 2026, at the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal.
