According to many news reports during the evening of Monday, March 23, an Air Canada flight attendant from Lachute was ejected from an aircraft which crashed into a fire truck soon after landing that day at La Guardia Airport in New York.

In numerous reports, the flight attendant has been identified as Solange Tremblay of Lachute. She was purportedly found near the crash site with a broken leg and several other injuries

“I want to send all my positive energy to Solange Tremblay, the Lachute resident who miraculously survived the terrible collision at LaGuardia Airport,” said Lachute Mayor Bernard Bigras-Denis in a social media post on Monday evening.

Tremblay is expected to make a full recovery. Two pilots aboard the aircraft, Antoine Forest of Coteau-du-Lac, and Mackenzie Gunther, died in the collision.
