There’s no trash on the ground around Bob’s Food Stand in Hawkesbury.

Recently, Hawkesbury town council granted a temporary adjustment to zoning to permit the food stand to relocate to the site of the former Marguerite Bourgeoys school on Bon Pasteur Street for up to three years. Currently, the food stand is located a short distance away near the gas station at the corner of McGill and Bon Pasteur streets.

Owners Robert Gray and Robert St-Onge want everyone to know there are trash cans near the takeout window, and they have a dumpster which is emptied regularly. They have not waited to move to the new location to ensure their stand operates cleanly, inside and outside.

“We have everything,” Gray said.

“The bin has been there since February,” he added.

In addition to having places for customers to dispose of trash, Gray and St-Onge make every effort to ensure no litter is left on the ground surrounding their establishment.

Along with two trash cans near the takeout window and a dumpster, the interior kitchen area is extremely clean. A completely new trailer to house the food stand was recently built. With the combination of newness and cleanliness, it is no surprise that Bob’s Food Stand was given a green “pass” certificate from the Eastern Ontario Health Unit.

Bob’s Food Stand opened for the 2026 season on March 8. In the week’s ahead, the move will be made to the new location on Bon Pasteur Street, where customers can hopefully enjoy burgers, fries, poutine, and pizza to go in warm weather. Gray and St-Onge are looking forward to welcoming regular and new customers at the new location, which will include more parking.

Bob’s Food Stand is open from 11 am to 7 pm from Sunday to Wednesday and from 11 am to 9 pm from Thursday to Saturday. Delivery is also available.
