The town of Brownsburg-Chatham has partnered with Caisses populaires Desjardins to support the development of two new multi-sport surfaces, one indoor and one outdoor.
The multi-sport surface project will provide versatile, safe spaces adapted for a variety of sports and recreational activities, both indoors and outdoors. The facilities will host dek hockey, pickleball, basketball, futsal, and other activities based on community needs. The spaces will also include rest areas, enhanced lighting, and street furniture. While these facilities offer a wide variety of uses, the 2026 summer program will focus primarily on dek hockey to launch the first season of structured leagues.
The first rink will be located inside the Arèna Gilles-Lupien nd will be accessible during the summer months, from mid-April to mid-August. The second rink, located in Parc Roland-Cadieux, will be available year-round and suitable for summer and winter sports activities. Installation work will begin in mid-May and will take approximately one week to complete.
“Desjardins is proud to support the project for two new multi-sport surfaces in Brownsburg-Chatham, which will offer residents versatile, accessible, and sustainable spaces. As a cooperative, making a tangible contribution to the well-being of communities is at the heart of our mission. This initiative will allow many individuals and families to be active, to gather together, to discover new activities, and to adopt healthy lifestyles,” said Daniel Pilon, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Caisse Desjardins d’Argenteuil.
“This partnership with Desjardins represents much more than financial support; it is a concrete investment in the health, well-being, and vitality of our community. These new multi-sport surfaces will enrich our recreational offerings and create welcoming spaces where everyone can be active, have fun, and connect,” emphasized Kévin Maurice, Mayor of Brownsburg-Chatham.
The town also invites interested citizens and sports organizations to start planning their dek hockey leagues for the 2026 season now. Whether they are friendly, competitive, or mixed leagues, the planning period is officially open.
