On March 8, officers from the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) Argenteuil MRC detachment stopped a vehicle for a routine traffic stop on Route du Long-Sault (Route 344) in Saint-André-d’Argenteuil. During the routine checks, officers discovered contraband cigarettes. At the time of the stop, police seized more than 2,800 contraband cigarettes.
The 48-year-old man from Boileau who was arrested could face various charges under the Tobacco Tax Act.
