Three people face charges after police confiscated illegal drugs in Hawkesbury.

On Friday, February 27, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) executed a search warrant at a residence on Portelance Avenue.

Three people were arrested at the scene. Officers seized more than 10-grams of suspected cocaine, nearly two grams of suspected crack cocaine and nearly 20 suspected hydromorphone tablets. They also seized nearly $4,200 in cash, as well as items typically associated with drug trafficking.

Kayla Longpre, age 37 of Hawkesbury and Jeremiah Myre, age 43 of North Glengarry Township, are each charged with:

  • Possession of Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000

Myre is also charged with failing to comply with a probation order.

Both of these accused have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal on Wednesday, March 18.

Mathieu Menard, age 46 of The Nation has been charged with failure to comply with an undertaking and was held for a bail hearing to be held today before the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal.
