The PMAC Gallery in Alexandria is presenting OG26, its second Omnium Gatherum Art Exhibit. This wide-ranging group exhibition features the works of more than 40 artists in a multiplicity of media including acrylic, pastel, oil and watercolour paintings, sculptural works in glass, stone and steel, jewellery, pottery, stained-glass and even furniture.
“Our second Omnium Gatherum exhibit is a bright, joyous affair — visitors with the winter blues will leave having their spirits raised.” said Lourens Joubert, Executive Director of PMAC — The Priest’s Mill Arts Centre. He added: It is gratifying to see the PMAC Gallery’s exhibits develop character. Each new exhibit has grown in both stature and calibre, and OG26 is no exception.”
Highlights include:
If Lynne Ayers was an opera singer she’d be known as a Coloratura Mezzo Soprano, or more plainly, a diva. Her range of style and ability to work in multiple media, executed with depth and grace never fails to please. Lynne’s collage works, often incorporating deeply personal content, are genuine collectables that say more than can be gleaned at first glance. The PMAC gallery is proud to represent Lynne’s work.
Crystal Beshara, an international award-winning contemporary realist painter, whose richly toned oil and watercolour work reflect rural life, and its changing landscapes is a boon to the PMAC Gallery. Her paintings blend realism and expressionism, capturing farmscapes, with emotional depth and narrative nuance. Crystal also teaches drawing and watercolour at PMAC.
Work by Vankleek Hill artist, Susan Jephcott intrigues with its strong symbolic and narrative leanings; her bold thought-provoking works compel viewers to engage.
Glass blower, Eric Davy’s sculptural organic vessels are a testament to this glass blower’s command of the medium in bringing together difficult-to-combine colours that are as pleasing to the eye as the shapes.
New to the PMAC Gallery, artist Patsy Bae Lapointe’s quirky creatures delight with whimsical charm and unexpected character, adding a playful spirit to the exhibition.
OG26 also features a collaboration with the Ontario En Plein Air Painters Group, showcasing plein air works by seven of the group’s artists showcasing the richness of outdoor observation and technique. Among them: Julie Poulin, whose ephemeral Lady with a Yellow Hat in pastel invites repeated viewing. And Hamdullah Arbab, an exceptional watercolour portraitist creates with seeming ease which belies decades of daily practice. His works are easy to appreciate but keeps the viewer engaged and coming back for more.
The OG26 Art Exhibit is on display now at the PMAC Gallery through to 22 March 2026. The PMAC Gallery is open 10:00 to 16:00, Thursday to Sunday (weather permitting).
