With a focus on employability and language access, approximately 25 professionals gathered for a language exchange seminar at Chalet Bellevue in Morin-Heights on Wednesday, January 21. Organized by 4Korners, a non-profit organization that supports social, economic, and cultural development of English-speaking communities in the region, the seminar was part of the Laurentian English Services Advisory Network (LESAN).
The exchange event encouraged Québec organizations providing English services to take part in activities aimed at building bridges with English-speaking residents.
Representatives from 4Korners, including Socio-Economic Development Manager Katie Burke, delivered presentations exploring social and economic development in the Laurentians, with a focus on supporting unemployed anglophones in the region.

Approximately 25 individuals participated in discussions focused on understanding the Laurentians’ employability profile and connecting with social and economic development partners. Exercises included roundtable discussions addressing how to better serve anglophone communities in Québec and how to ensure strong collaboration across employment and social services.
The Circonflexe Mentorship Program (CMP) was also briefly introduced, with participants invited to register as mentors or mentees.

The CMP is a new program created by 4Korners to connect English- and French-speaking individuals through professional language exchanges, helping improve bilingual capabilities and expand employability in the province.
4Korners is currently seeking mentors and mentees for the CMP. More information can be found by visiting https://4korners.org/events/circonflexe-mentorship-st-donat/ or by emailing [email protected].
