Scotiabank Vankleek Hill presented a cheque for $3,000 to the Higginson Tower Committee recently. Scotiabank Vankleek Hill matched ticket sales at Scotiabank recently for ”Elvis: A Christmas Special.” The show, featuring Vankleek Hill native Pete Paquette with musicians and back-up singers, took place at Vankleek Hill Collegiate Institute on Friday, December 12. Tickets for the show were on sale at Scotiabank, which sold about 230 tickets in advance.
Thanks to the support of Scotiabank and other sponsors, the event raised almost $15,000 for the Higginson Tower Committee. While the tower is owned by Champlain Township, the tower committee pays insurance, hydro, pays special event costs, advertising, supplements the cost of the summer student, and pays other incidental costs.
