The Genesis Cooperative of area United Churches presented the origins of Christmas with a Live Nativity on Saturday, December 14 at the Vankleek Hill Fairgrounds.

Costumed presenters filled the roles of Mary, Joseph, angels, innkeepers, shepherds, the Magi, and Herod as they presented the story of Jesus’ birth from the Bible. A choir performed carols and the audience joined in happily. A miniature horse, goats, and sheep added to the atmosphere of a stable in Bethlehem long ago.

The Genesis Cooperative includes United Church of Canada congregations at Cassburn, Kirk Hill, and Trinity in Vankleek Hill.
