On Friday, December 12, North Stormont Mayor François Landry was inaugurated as the 2026 Stormont, Dundas, and Glengarry (SDG) Counties Council Warden, replacing South Glengarry Deputy Mayor Martin Lang, who had served in the position since December 2024.
“I’m excited for the work ahead. We’ve got big plans on the go—from improving our roads and infrastructure to supporting new business growth and continuing to build strong partnerships across our communities,” Landry said. “We’re also putting a real focus on welcoming visitors and showcasing everything that makes SDG Counties special.”
SDG Counties Councillors Tony Fraser and Carma Williams escorted Landry to the Warden’s chair shortly after he was sworn in, receiving applause from attendees.

Member of Parliament (MP) for Stormont-Dundas-Glengarry Eric Duncan congratulated Landry, saying, “Frank, you’ve been a great leader in North Stormont, and we all know that your work here at SDG always ensures quality and that you serve the community with pride. You have my full faith and cooperation.”
Stormont-Dundas-South Glengarry Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) Nolan Quinn said he looked forward to working with Landry to create more opportunities for the region. “I know there are going to be great things to happen across the counties of SDG under your leadership,” Quinn said.
Additionally, the United Counties of Prescott-Russell (UCPR) Warden Yves Laviolette thanked Lang for his dedication and service as SDG Counties Warden for the past year. Laviolette added, “Landry’s vision and commitment will help guide the Counties towards continued progress, and the UCPR looks forward to working with him and his colleagues in the year ahead.”
