Three regional governments in the Laurentides region, including the MRC d’Argenteuil, are sharing a $1,225,000 grant from the Québec government for projects to strengthen the capacity of municipalities to better manage flood risks in the Rivière Rouge watershed.
The grant was announced on Monday, December 1 by Argenteuil Member of the National Assembly Agnès Grondin, who is also Parliamentary Assistant to Minister of Municipal Affairs Geneviève Guilbault.
The grant is being shared by the MRCs of Antoine-Labelle, Argenteuil, and Papineau.
This funding will allow the regional governments to work together to identify the most vulnerable areas and plan interventions tailored to the realities on the ground. The project aims to develop a clear picture of the situation, better locate risks, and support municipalities in their decision-making to effectively protect citizens and their property.
