A major fire engulfed a chicken barn in Treadwell on Wednesday, November 5.

According to Alfred and Plantagenet Deputy Fire Chief Stephane Barbarie, the fire broke out at around 8:30 pm on Wednesday. By the time firefighters arrived, the building was already fully engulfed in flames.

Fortunately, no chickens were inside the barn at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported. Firefighters worked for several hours to extinguish the blaze and protect surrounding structures.

The value of the damage is estimated at approximately $4 million. The cause of the barn fire is currently unknown.
