It’s the most festive time of year, and Champlain Library is excited to share a lineup of Christmas-themed activities for families to enjoy throughout the holiday season.

We’re kicking things off on Friday, November 28 before the Town Christmas Parade with a special Storytime and craft at 6:00 PM. All ages are welcome, and no registration is required. Drop in for a cozy holiday tale and a fun craft before heading out to enjoy the parade.

On Monday, December 4 at 4:15 PM, kids ages 5 and up can join us for an after-school Christmas craft session. Registration is required for this program, and families can sign up online at bc-cl.ca programs or give the library a call.

Our regular Thursday morning storytimes will also take on a festive twist throughout December. Designed for children 0–5 and their caregivers, these sessions feature Christmas books and simple crafts. No registration needed, just come enjoy some holiday magic together.

We also want to remind the community that our Book on Every Bed Program is now underway. This year, we have over 120 local children taking part – the highest number we’ve ever had – and we truly need your help to make sure every child wakes up to a new book on Christmas morning. The program supports families receiving Christmas baskets from the Vankleek Hill and L’Orignal food banks. We are also collecting new magazines and Large Print activity books for residents of the local retirement homes.

If you would like to contribute, please call 613-678-2216 or visit the library to be paired with a child. Your generosity can brighten someone’s holiday in the simplest, most meaningful way.
