On Saturday, November 1, Sûreté du Québec officers observed a suspicious vehicle on avenue Bethany in Lachute and noticed an exchange between two people, possibly involving narcotics. The officers intercepted the vehicle and, during the intervention, discovered narcotics and arrested the driver. The 62-year-old man was arrested and subsequently released with several conditions following his court appearance. He will have to return to court at a later date in Saint-Jérôme. He could face drug-related charges.
Police seized more than 200 methamphetamine tablets, more than 28 grams of crack cocaine, more than 24 grams of cocaine, two cell phones, and a sum of money.
