Back when Ford had a Better Idea and Mercury’s were sold At the Sign of the Cat, J.D. Arnold Automobile Limited sold both, along with luxury Lincoln models at the corner of rue Maple (Route 344) and rue Principale in Grenville at the end of the former Perley Bridge. During the past week, demolition of the buildings on the property began. New residential rental units are going to be built on the site.
After J.D. Arnold Automobile closed, the building was the site of a Bonichoix supermarket and then a liquidation store. A second building on the site had been a Société des alcools du Québec (SAQ) liquor store, and then a hunting and fishing supply store.
