The ice is in, the lines are painted, and the rinks are ready for five months of stones and sweeping.
The season is about to begin at the Vankleek Hill Curling Club.
Curling and golf season do overlap, and the club is holding its first ever Swing and Sweep event on Saturday, November 1. The day includes nine holes of golf and then two short games of curling with a spaghetti supper at the club.
Registration is $70 per player for up to 24 teams of four people. Tickets for the dinner only are $20 per person. All levels of ability and experience are welcome. One curling club member is required for each team. For more information or to register, call Dom Sauvé at 613-677-8687 or email [email protected].
Regular curling leagues begin on Monday, November 3. Learn to Curl starts on Friday, November 7. Learn to Curl allows people interested in curling to discover the game, learn the rules, and develop skills. It is also a good opportunity for curlers who have taken a break from the game to become reintroduced to it.
Mixed, men’s, competitive, and junior leagues are available at the Vankleek Hill Curling Club. Both evening and daytime play is available to complement various schedules.
