Friday, October 17 at Vankleek Hill Collegiate Institute (VCI) ended like any other Friday at the local high school, except for one thing: it was the last day on the job for longtime office employee Lois Linttell.
Linttell, the school’s Office Administrator, closed out her 50-year career with plans for a long vacation before official retirement March 2026.
For many parents and visitors to VCI, Linttell was the first person they met when arriving at the VCI office, and she was the first person many students saw when being called to the office for both good and non-so-good reasons. At least three generations of students, and even more of the teaching staff at VCI have had Lois Linttell to thank for ensuring the school operated smoothly since 1975.
