The first show produced by new community theatre group, High and Main Productions will open on Friday, November 28 at 7 pm at the Creating Centre Créativité in Vankleek Hill. The show titled Beneath the Surface features two one-act plays, Edward Albee’s The Zoo Story and Alice Gerstenberg’s Overtones.
“Rehearsals are underway for both plays,” said High and Main’s Co-Director Konstantine Malakos, who will be directing Overtones and staring in The Zoo Story. “Together, the plays deal with conformity and alienation in middle class life, and both are peppered with humour and insight.” The Zoo Story was acclaimed playwright Albee’s first play and opened in 1958 to great reviews.

“Seating is limited, so we strongly recommend that people purchase tickets in advance,” added Malakos. “Seating is on a first come, first serve basis.”
