Only voters in District 3 in Brownsburg-Chatham will be voting in the municipal election on Sunday, November 2.

Former Councillor Gilles Galarneau is challenging incumbent Louis Quevillon for the seat.

Quevillon defeated Galarneau in 2021.

All other positions in Brownsburg-Chatham have been acclaimed.

Mayor Kévin Maurice is returning for a second consecutive term. Incumbent District 1 Councillor Pierre Baril has been acclaimed. In District 2, incumbent Councillor André Junior Florestal is not seeking re-election. Newcomer Julie Gauthier has been acclaimed to the position.

Martine Renaud, the incumbent Councillor in District 4 has been acclaimed. Incumbent District 5 Councillor Marilou Laurin has also been acclaimed. In District 6, incumbent Councillor Stephen Rowland has also been returned by acclamation.

Grenville village

There is a race for mayor and two council seats in the village of Grenville.

Incumbent Mayor Pierre Thauvette is being challenged by Sarah Lacasse Dwyer. Thauvette has served as mayor since 2018. Lacasse Dwyer was a two-term councillor in Harrington until 2021 when she was defeated in her bid for re-election.

For the Position 2 seat, incumbent Councillor Andre Woodbury is being challenged by David Massie.

Incumbent Position 4 Councillor Peter Dopelhamer is seeking re-election but is being challenged by Gaétan “Pirate” Carrière.

Candidates for the remaining council seats in Grenville have been acclaimed. These candidates are incumbent André Lemay in Position 1, Louis André Desjardins in Position 3, Roger Lalonde in Position 5, and Jocelyne Louis-Seize in Position 6.
