The Golf Against Cancer tournament, organized by Gabriel Parent brought the community together last September 20 at La Cité Golf Club in Hawkesbury for a day of fun and solidarity in support of the Hawkesbury and District General Hospital (HGH) Foundation. The event, followed by a steak dinner at the Hawkesbury Legion (Branch 472), raised an impressive total of $10,000, which will go directly to HGH’s Chemotherapy Clinic to support patient services in our region.
The cheque was presented on September 25 at the Hawkesbury Legion. This tournament marks the third event organized by Gabriel Parent, who held the first Golf Against Cancer tournament in May 2024, followed by the Hockey Fights Cancer tournament in March 2025. To date, Gabriel has raised an impressive $20,550 for the HGH Foundation. The next “Hockey Fight Cancer” tournament, which will take place on April 11 and 12, 2026, at the Vankleek Hill Arena.
