The students and staff at Grenville Elementary School raised more than $4,780 on Friday, September 26 at the school’s annual Terry Fox Run fundraiser. Students and staff walked along the Grenville Canal and Ottawa River for the main event. But the biggest highlight of the day was Principal Nancy Bennett kissing a piglet in front of all of the students. Bennett agreed to pucker up for the little porker once the school reached a Terry Fox fundraising milestone. During the past 21 years, Grenville Elementary, which has never had more than 80 students, has raised $50,000 for cancer research at the Terry Fox Foundation. The students also got to use their artistic talents on their teachers and paint their faces.
