The town of Brownsburg-Chatham and members of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) have signed a new collective agreement with its white-collar and blue-collar employees.

The previous collective agreement, which expired on December 31, 2024, has been replaced by a modern and improved agreement, accepted by 84 per cent of union members. This agreement includes salary adjustments, enhanced benefits, and improved working conditions.

“I commend the professionalism and commitment of the negotiating teams, who made it possible to conclude this agreement constructively for the workers of today and tomorrow. Thanks to this collaboration, we are ensuring the continuity of quality municipal services for all our citizens,” said Kévin Maurice, Mayor of Brownsburg-Chatham.

Union President Sylvain Lefebvre highlighted the spirit of cooperation that animated the discussions: “This agreement reflects the needs and concerns of our members, while taking into account the realities of the town.”

Lefebvre said the union is satisfied with the outcome and the openness demonstrated throughout the negotiation process.
