This fall, Arbor Gallery bursts with colour and creativity in an exhibition featuring three exceptional local artists.

Local painter Léa-Sylvie Pilon takes center stage in the Pemberton-Smith Room, showcasing her most abstract and striking pieces yet. Using layers of oil, acrylic, and Chinese ink, her impressionistic canvases capture energy, emotion, and the wonder of nature. “Through painting, I explore the joy of living and the beauty of the natural world,” said Pilon. “Each canvas reflects my journey, my emotions, and the childlike wonder I continue to discover in everyday life.” This exhibition is made possible for Pilon, thanks to a grant from the Ontario Arts Council.

In the Arber Room (Members’ Space), visitors can see works by local textile artist Brian Beavis and visual artist Veronika McKerrell. McKerrell, a self-taught painter who studied figurative and landscape art in Edinburgh and portraiture in London, blends landscape and figurative styles. Her gestural, intuitive marks create rich textures that invite viewers to experience the essence of nature in a visceral way.

Together, the exhibition offers a vibrant celebration of color and creativity, from Pilon’s abstract landscapes to the textured, experimental works of Beavis and McKerrell.

The exhibition runs from September 25 to October 18, with a vernissage on September 27 from 1 pm to 3 pm. Gallery Arbor is located at 103 High Street, Vankleek Hill, and is open Thursday to Sunday, noon to 4 pm. Admission is always free. For more information: [email protected].
