Grenville-sur-la-Rouge firefighters will be getting some new equipment. On Tuesday, September 9, Grenville-sur-la-Rouge (GSLR) council approved nearly $70,000 in spending for the fire department. The funds will purchase equipment and an alert management system for firefighters.
The GSLR fire department will purchase a new set of the Jaws of Life to replace the 2003 set. To maintain effective and safe emergency responses, council approved purchasing the Jaws of Life and related equipment from L’Arsenal for $65,100, plus applicable taxes.
Council also approved the acquisition of an alert management and distribution system for the 20 on-call firefighters. The system, purchased from Info Page Inc., will serve the fire department for three years. The contract costs $3,204, plus applicable taxes, and will improve the speed and efficiency of communications during emergency responses.
Both investments were approved unanimously, without discussion.
