A bit of rain on Saturday, August 30, did not stop the Glengarry County Plowing Match from going ahead.

A total of 17 competitors, including three teams of horses using both sulky and walk-behind plows, took part in the match hosted by Keith Wells on land at the corner of County Road 18 and County Road 27 near Williamstown.

Robert McPherson of the Glengarry Plowmen’s Association said competitors were from across Eastern Ontario and nearby parts of Québec. He also said that Clydesdale, Percheron, and Belgian draught horses were represented in the teams.
