Savour the Field returns to Eastern Ontario, featuring a variety of local agricultural experiences from August 22 to 24. The Eastern Ontario Agri-Food Network (EOAN) event is boasting new additions to its programming, including an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered itinerary builder.

This year’s main event will take place at Springfield Farm in Apple Hill, an organic working farm, on Sunday, August 24. Attendees can participate in a special rural experience involving an Indigenous farm-to-table culinary journey with Akwesasne Chef Jonathan Lazore.

Springfield Farm owners Eleanor and Finbarr McGrath-McCarthy will welcome participants to their property for two sittings, with Chef Lazore highlighting Indigenous traditions and stories throughout the meal. Live music will be provided by Alanna Sterling.

EOAN Executive Director Eric Collard said the Springfield Farm meal will welcome approximately 100 participants for an Indigenous feast prepared by Chef Lazore.

“The Savour the Field weekend is the perfect time to go meet the amazing producers who feed our communities. Grab your friends and go discover all the bounty Eastern Ontario has to offer,” said EOAN President Sylviane Dutrisac.

Additionally, self-guided tours are taking place on Friday, August 22, and Saturday, August 23, where participants can visit more than 30 local farms, breweries, markets, and artisanal producers in the region.

“From award-winning beer and wine to local honey, bakeries and farms, we pretty much have it all covered. All you need to do is check out our AI itinerary builder to enjoy some of your favourites with one click,” Collard explained.

The new AI itinerary builder helps visitors plan personalized routes among participating vendors and producers.
